Conquering the Backyard

The backyard of this newly renovated Mindarie home has been finished off with a spectacular addition.
The Conquest by Sapphire Pools is an 8m by 3.5m fibreglass lap pool with the look of concrete.

The design includes a safety ledge, ideal for children and those learning to swim, as well as deep end corner swim-outs for extra safety. At its deepest, the pool reaches 1.9m, while the shallow end measures 1.1m deep.

The entry to the pool is from the shallow end via the unobtrusive twin side-entry steps, which have been integrated perfectly into the design to offer plenty of room for swimming and recreation.

“Twin side-entry steps allow the pool to fit in any backyard, regardless of shape, size or functional use,” Sapphire Pools Group Marketing Manager Andrew Farmer said.

“You can place the pool at any angle and have access to the shallow end from either side of the pool.”

Freo Stone travertine has been used as the header and matching pavers throughout the rest of the space, giving a feeling of depth to this part of the backyard.

Matching the pool and the backyard space to the newly renovated coastal Hamptons-style house was a big priority in the design of this area.

The predominantly white colour of the home was harmonised with the modern coastal blue colours found in this space.

A professional interior designer seamlessly coordinated the entire yard through a mix of lounge beds, settees with matching cushions, feature pots and lanterns. The pool itself has been finished with a premium-quality Sterling colour to match, although The Conquest is available in a full range of colours.

“The deep Sterling Blue this client used provides a contrast to the travertine header, making the pool the focal point of the backyard,” Mr Farmer said.

“This pool uses the patented product Pool ColourGuard, which offers a lifetime guarantee to ensure the colour will not fade and will resist the effects of ultra-violet rays.”
