Split level adds to innovation

Bypassing conventional design in favour of an intriguing aesthetic, this Sapphire Pools project enhanced an innovative backyard design at Wembley.
Following a decision to knock down an existing home and subdivide, the homeowners wanted to build their dream home and backyard.
With the backyard to include a split level from the alfresco down to the main pool area, it was the concept of a spillway spa on the raised level with water cascading down to the pool level which piqued the homeowner’s interest.
The end result was a 7m by 3m design with a long bench seat running the length of the pool, which assisted with engineering the installation closer to the northern boundary fence.
Speaking to New Homes, Sapphire Pools Business Development Manager Darren Godden said the pool – Sapphire’s Oxford design – and spa combination had a resort-style feel, with all of the key elements needed for a relaxed outdoor lifestyle.
A stunning gazebo was constructed at the deep end of the pool. Complete with comfortable furniture, this added yet another dose of luxury to the space.
“The pool and spa design incorporates the family’s love of relaxing outdoors, both in summer and, with the spa, also in winter,” Mr Godden said.
LED uplights were installed to illuminate the frangipani and the foliage planted in surrounding rusted pots.
“The owners couldn’t be happier with their dream outdoor living area, which perfectly matches their dream home,” Mr Godden said.
The Oxford pool will be on display at the Pool, Spa & Outdoor Living Expo today Saturday September 8 and tomorrow Sunday September 9 at Claremont Showground.
