TIGHT SPACE
Choosing the right pool for this unusually shaped block was complicated.
With walls of the property at a challenging 45 degrees to the boundary walls it made planning for the swimming pool design difficult. After doing the rounds of the swimming pool display centres, the owners were fortunate to find a triangular shaped pool which fitted perfectly into this tight space.
The challenge in installing this pool was to allow enough room to hide the pool equipment whilst at the same time allowing enough space for movement around the pool.
Clever design of a water feature shaped to the length of the pool short end acts as a secured area to house the pool equipment.
Strategically designed planter boxes and garden beds offset and protect the pool area for swimmers privacy.
This triangular pool has two moulded seats complete with spa jets for total relaxation and two long bench seats on either side for maximum comfort and child safety. The step areas on both sides make for easy entry/exit of the pool. The pool was also fitted with Solar Heating to help the family enjoy an extended swimming period.
LAP POOL WAS THE ONLY CHOICE FOR THIS DIFFICULT SPACE
When the owners purchased their new narrow block of land in Kensington, they soon realized that if they were to have a swimming pool in the backyard then it needed to be installed prior to the construction of the house.
With the decision made, their choice of pool was limited given the extensive size of the house and the choice of alfresco position. A long narrow lap style pool was really the only choice but the finished result is spectacular!
With the house design based on two separate levels the installation of this pool on the empty block had to be carefully considered. After pool installation, the pool was covered with planks to protect the pool during the house construction phase. One year later the planks were removed to awaken the sleeping pool.
This 9m x 2.5m lap pool sits comfortably one step away from a very modern and comfortable alfresco area where family and friends can enjoy the peaceful setting overlooking a frangipani garden backdrop.
The pool, with 2 x LED multi coloured lights together with a number of garden lights, provides a stunning outlook.
